Pergamon, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of Türkiye’s most impressive ancient cities. Once the capital of the Kingdom of Pergamon, it is known for its Acropolis, steep theatre, monumental temples, and the famed Asclepion healing center. Pergamon is also one of the Seven Churches of Revelation.

History & Culture

Pergamon flourished during the Hellenistic period, especially under King Eumenes II. The Library of Pergamon was one of the greatest libraries of the ancient world. Later, it became a major Roman center.

What to Expect

A large archaeological site with steep slopes, temples, ancient streets, and panoramic views. Much of the site requires walking uphill or using a cable car.
