Port of Istanbul (GalataPort)
The Port of Istanbul, also known as Galataport, is the newest and largest cruise port in Istanbul. It is located in the Karaköy neighborhood on the European side of the city and is close to popular tourist attractions such as the Galata Tower, Istiklal Avenue, and Taksim Square.
Galataport was built to modernize Istanbul's cruise tourism infrastructure and increase the city's capacity to handle larger cruise ships. It officially opened in 2021 and has the capacity to accommodate up to three large cruise ships simultaneously.
The port has a modern design and features state-of-the-art facilities such as a shopping mall, restaurants, cafes, and a cultural center. It also has a large outdoor space with a park, a public square, and a seaside promenade with views of the Bosphorus.
In addition to serving as a cruise port, Galataport aims to become a cultural and entertainment hub for Istanbul, with a variety of events and activities planned throughout the year.
